Biological Parallel

Red team/blue team exercises mirror predator-prey co-evolution. Prey species (blue team) evolve defenses—camouflage, armor, toxins. Predators (red team) evolve counter-strategies—better vision, toxin resistance, cooperative hunting. Each adaptation by one side selects for counter-adaptations in the other. The cleaner wrasse/client fish relationship includes red-teaming: some wrasses cheat by eating client mucus instead of parasites, forcing clients to evolve inspection behaviors and punishment strategies. Adversarial testing through co-evolution produces robust systems that single-perspective design cannot.
