Biological Parallel
Land and Expand—enter with minimal footprint, then grow within the account—mirrors mycorrhizal colonization of plant roots. Fungi initially infect a small root section with minimal investment, then expand throughout the root system once the mutualistic relationship proves beneficial. The fungus doesn't try to colonize the entire root network immediately; it establishes trust (nutrient exchange), then systematically expands. Similarly, oak trees use root suckering: establish one trunk, then expand through underground runners to create a connected grove. Start small, prove value, expand from within. The alternative—trying to colonize everything at once—exhausts resources and triggers immune response (rejection).
