Feature Prioritization Frameworks

Origin: Various (RICE, ICE, MoSCoW, etc.)

Biological Parallel

Foraging animals face the feature prioritization problem constantly: which berry bush (feature) should I visit given travel cost (effort), calories (reach), competition (impact), and ripeness uncertainty (confidence)? Bees solve this with the marginal value theorem—leave a flower patch when reward rate drops below the average for the habitat. Prioritization frameworks (RICE, ICE) formalize this biological calculation: maximize value per unit effort, accounting for uncertainty. The algorithm isn't arbitrary—it's how evolution teaches organisms to allocate finite energy across competing opportunities under resource scarcity.
