Biological Parallel
Mycorrhizal networks connect plant roots to fungal partners in obligate mutualism—neither survives alone, both thrive together through bidirectional exchange. DevOps dissolves the dev/ops boundary into mutualistic symbiosis: developers gain operational insight, operators gain deployment control, both optimize for shared outcomes. The mycorrhizal fungus receives 20% of the tree's photosynthetic output; the tree receives expanded nutrient access. When walls between interdependent functions fall, the whole system's fitness increases.
