The company joined a growing movement of businesses that respect circadian recovery needs: productivity doesn't scale linearly with hours, and recovery time enhances rather than hinders performance. The permanent adoption signals confidence that reduced hours with proper rest improves outcomes, not just maintains them.

But Kickstarter's deeper biological insight is its all-or-nothing funding model. Projects must reach their funding goal (quorum) to receive any money. This creates financial quorum sensing: collective action (product launch) is triggered only when critical mass signals viability. The model demonstrates autocatalytic feedback - projects at 30% funded have ~90% chance of reaching 100% as positive feedback kicks in. Backers feel safe committing because quorum prevents partial-launch disasters: creators either have sufficient resources to deliver or the project doesn't happen.

The dual lesson: circadian recovery makes teams more effective, not less.
