Khanh Hoa
Vietnam's coastal tourism-defense hub—VND 60.3K billion tourism (10 months 2025), 14.8M visitors, Van Phong 20m deep-water port, Cam Ranh strategic bay.
Khanh Hoa aims to become Southeast Asia's leading tourism center by leveraging Nha Trang's beaches and Cam Ranh's strategic port. Tourism revenue hit VND 60,318 billion through October 2025 (up 20.1%), exceeding 90% of annual targets early. 14.8 million visitor stays included 4.6 million internationals; Mastercard ranked Nha Trang 11th globally for summer 2025 destinations.
Marine economy generates 80% of provincial GDP through tourism, fisheries, shipbuilding, seaports, and energy. Post-merger, Khanh Hoa spans 490+ kilometers of coastline from Vung Ro Bay to Ca Na—more deep-water international ports (Van Phong, Cam Ranh, Ca Na) than any other Vietnamese province. Van Phong's 20-meter natural depth enables Vietnam's largest international transit port development.
Cam Ranh Bay anchors both tourism and defense—Resolution 09 designates the area for marine economy, port services, and high-quality eco-tourism serving South Central and Central Highlands regions. The airport handles 60 daily flights including 35 internationals from Korea, China, Kazakhstan, Thailand, and Malaysia. Resolution 01 targets double-digit growth (2025-2030) and centrally-run city status by 2030.
