Arusha Region

Arusha serves as the political nucleus of East African integration—hosting the East African Community headquarters and the African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights. The 2025 Karibu-Kilifair expo drew 500+ exhibitors from 15 countries and 1,000 international buyers to Africa's largest tourism trade fair. The region anchors Tanzania's $3.9 billion tourism economy (17.2% of GDP), serving as gateway to Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Mount Meru. The EAC's expansion to eight member states (Somalia joined March 2024) positions Arusha as the administrative hub for 300+ million people across the East African trade bloc.
