The village sits in Jagodina municipality within the Pomoravlje District—Serbia's cable manufacturing heartland, where the Jagodina Cable Factory (FKS) produces 50% of Serbian cable and employs approximately 8,000 workers. This industrial anchor transformed surrounding villages from purely agricultural settlements into labor reserves.

The village experienced a dramatic economic pivot in 2012 when German automotive supplier Aunde established manufacturing operations in Kočino Selo. By 2024, Aunde Srb employs 1,165 workers—transforming a village of approximately 952 residents (2002 census) into an automotive manufacturing node. This represents industrial colonization: foreign capital implanting production capacity in locations offering labor cost advantages and adequate transport links.

The Belica River, a Great Morava tributary, flows through nearby deforested terrain. The village sits at 112 meters elevation on the valley floor, three kilometers from Ribare. Jagodina's industrial history reaches back to 1846, when Serbia's first glass factory opened at Avramovac; the region's manufacturing vocation predates the Aunde arrival by 170 years.
