Fez-Meknes contributes 8.2% of Morocco's GDP (#4 nationally), formed from merging Fez-Boulemane and Meknes-Tafilalet regions with 4.43 million inhabitants (12% of national population). Tertiary activities dominate at 59.6% of added value; primary sector contributes 21.2%; secondary 12.1%. The region ranks #1 in national agricultural added value with orchards, olive groves, and vineyards. Craft center of Morocco with 12.8% of national craft GDP—144,000+ artisans employed. Craft exports exceeded 143 million dirhams in 2024 (vs 27.3M in 2014). Tourism contributes 8.5% of national tourism GDP via cultural/heritage attractions. 5,993 new companies created in 2024 (#5 nationally).
