Guangxi's trade with ASEAN grew 18.2% in Q1-Q3 2024, exceeding national growth by 12.9 percentage points. Total trade reached 345.28 billion yuan in H1 2024 (+12%), with ASEAN trade at 185.62 billion yuan (+26.7%). Nanning's GDP hit 599.54 billion yuan in 2024 (all-time high). The China-ASEAN Expo (21st in 2024) anchors economic/cultural ties. The Beibu Gulf Zone serves as logistics, business, manufacturing, and information base for China-ASEAN cooperation. The Beihai Export Processing Zone is the only one bordering the sea in western China. Longbang border crossing became the sixth land port for Thai fruit transshipment (May 2025). China-ASEAN Free Trade Area covers 2 billion people and $26+ trillion GDP. ASEAN has been China's largest trading partner for consecutive years.
