Scale Invariance
The property where a relationship or pattern remains the same regardless of the scale at which it's observed. The same rules apply whether you're looking at the small or large end of a phenomenon.
Biological Context
Metabolic scaling is scale-invariant—the same 3/4 power relationship holds from bacteria to whales. Fractal structures are scale-invariant—the same branching pattern appears at every level. Scale invariance suggests universal underlying mechanisms.
Business Application
Organizational challenges are often scale-invariant: coordination problems at 10 people resemble those at 10,000. The same management principles apply, just at different scales.
