MoSCoW Method
Origin: Dai Clegg (1994)
Biological Parallel
Animals in harsh environments practice MoSCoW triage during resource scarcity: Must-have (water—death in days without it), Should-have (protein—weakness and disease without it), Could-have (vitamins—reduced performance), Won't-have (luxury foods—nice but not survival-critical). Desert camels store water (Must), metabolize fat for both energy and water (Should), and completely abandon territorial displays and mating behaviors (Won't) during extreme drought. This ruthless categorization based on survival impact mirrors MoSCoW's demand for honest prioritization when resources can't serve all needs simultaneously.
