Biological Parallel
Organisms possess repair capacities they do not consciously plan around. Zebrafish regenerate 20% of ventricular tissue within two months. Starfish regenerate entire arms from central disc segments. Hydra regenerate from fragments of a few hundred cells and show negligible senescence. Deer regrow antlers annually — the only fully regenerating mammalian organ. In every case, the repair system operates below behavioral planning, and the organism does not account for its own recovery capacity when making decisions.
