Wipro is one of the pioneer species in India's IT ecosystem succession. Along with Infosys and TCS, Wipro helped establish India's credibility in software services during the 1980s-1990s when infrastructure was poor and venture capital was nonexistent. These pioneers created the conditions for later waves of MNC R&D centers and product startups.
