Wet Seal's 2015 and 2017 bankruptcies collapsed a teen fashion chain that couldn't survive fast fashion competition. The company filed bankruptcy twice, closing all stores in the second filing. Teen shoppers moved to Forever 21, H&M, and online. Wet Seal's attempts to reposition failed. The brand sold to Gordon Brothers Group, which operates it online. Wet Seal joined the list of teen mall retailers destroyed by faster, cheaper competition.
