Seattle Post-Intelligencer

The Seattle P-I's 2009 print closure ended 146 years of newspaper publishing, becoming online-only with a tiny staff. Like the Rocky Mountain News, it couldn't survive sharing Seattle's advertising market. The transition to online-only demonstrated that digital-only local news couldn't replace print economics. The P-I website limps along as shadow of its print heritage.
