Nash Motors

Automotive · Founded 1916

Nash's 1954 merger with Hudson created American Motors, ending Nash independence after pioneering unitized construction and compact cars. The Nash Rambler was ahead of its time. But subscale production and Big Three competition forced merger. George Romney's leadership of AMC would eventually create the first successful American compact car wave, but Nash as a brand faded. Nash demonstrated that pioneers often prepare markets for others.
