Midway Airlines (2003)

Midway Airlines' 2003 closure was the second death for an airline name that had failed in 1991. The 2001 revival attempted to serve Chicago's Midway Airport as a low-cost alternative to O'Hare. September 11 demand collapse and Southwest's Midway expansion proved fatal. Midway demonstrated that airline brand revivals rarely succeed - the conditions that killed the original brand often persist.
