Guaranty Bank (Texas)

Guaranty Bank's 2009 FDIC seizure was the largest Texas bank failure ever and the tenth-largest nationally. The bank had $13 billion in assets concentrated in mortgage securities and construction loans. When both markets collapsed simultaneously, Guaranty couldn't survive. The mechanism failure was dual concentration in correlated assets.
